No real nickname, except the occasional abbreviated “Sal”, which I find peculiar when people I’ve just met want to call me that – it’s not like my name has 5 syllables and is impossible to pronounce. It seems lazy. What is your favorite color? Black. Don't come after me to say that black is the absence of color, absence of light, whatever. We get the point from the view of a color theorist; don't make it an issue. Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Fantastic. Fabulous. Amazing. Cheers. What Internet-developed words or acronyms do you like most? “Kewl”. And I’m embarrassed to admit that I used it quite frequently over the past couple of years. What’s your favorite holiday or journey? I love the ocean and warm weather, although humidity is challenging. Anywhere I can luxuriate in comfort while being pampered – be it a city spa, en route in Virgin Atlantic’s Clubhouse at Heathrow, or getting a massage at Changi Airport. Good spas and excellent cuisine. Love London and miss Concorde. What’s the first thing you pack in your suitcase? Shoes, always. Followed by at least one Miyake Madame T wrap. What was the last CD you bought? The Japanese import of the Pet Shop Boys’ “Flamboyant”; “Collectors wear black clothes by Issey Miyake” seems to have been written for me. What books are you reading? Mona Lisa Schulz’s “New Feminine Brain”. Fascinating. From time-to-time I post on my blog a running list of what’s on my night stand, however, I think I deleted the last entry somehow... How much TV do you watch? What? Hours on end. Or none at all. Nip/Tuck is stunning. HBO have produced some amazing shows: The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Oz, Six Feet Under … my DVR is on heavy rotation with Bill Maher, Entourage and Rome. What’s your motto?
