What is your nickname? Who gave it to you?
My nickname is “Gus”, short for asparagus, my favorite vegetable. It was given to me many years ago by my best friend and souls mate Pug.

What is your favorite color?
Green. At the moment, I’m particularly fond of a shade I call ‘Pampas’ a blend of celery and sorrel.

Brilliant. Peculiar. Vexing. Truly!

What Internet-developed words or acronyms do you like most?
”Dot Com”. Having lived through the glory days of the Late 90’s, I’ve come to appreciate that particular mania.

What’s your favorite holiday or journey?
My favorite holiday is Christmas. I absolutely love spirit of the season and the feeling of being carried away by the extravagance.

What’s the first thing you pack in your suitcase?
Shoes. I find shoes are like verbs. You build your sentences around the action, your build your wardrobe around the shoes.

What was the last CD you bought?
The soundtrack to “The Last September”. Zbigniew Preisner’s elegiac composition transports me back to a previous life.

What books are you reading?
I read constantly, so I’ve usually got a few books by my bed or in my bag. My current selections include Salman Rushdie’s Shalimar the Clown, Umberto Eco’s The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana, Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink and Ian Kelley’s Cooking for Kings.

How much TV do you watch? What?
I don’t really watch TV…with the exception of a few programs. I follow Nip/Tuck, but not with the obsession of many of my friends and family. I also enjoy David Brancaccio’s Now. Style Channel’s Fashionrance provides great background distraction, but I can’t really claim to watch as much as absorbe it.
